Gargrave Church of England Primary School will formally join Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust on 1st June 2026.
The move will see the school become the third school in the Craven area to join the Trust, alongside Skipton Parish Church of England Primary School and Embsay Church of England Primary School.
The school's governing body said the decision was taken with the aim of supporting pupils, staff and the wider community while building on the school's existing foundations and values.
The Chief Executive of Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust, Jane Goodwin, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Gargrave Church of England Primary School into the Trust.
"The school’s strong community ethos and commitment to high-quality education align with our values and will importantly continue to be the basis of ongoing strength and development.
"As the third school in Craven to become part of the Trust, it further enhances the collective capacity of our schools to deliver ambition, learning and enrichment for all children.”
Headteacher Sarah Peel said joining the Trust would provide access to additional expertise, resources and support while allowing the school to maintain its identity as a Church of England school.
Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust said the addition of Gargrave Primary School would strengthen collaboration between schools in the area and support the development of its presence within Craven.
Centralised services such as finance, human resources, estates management and compliance are also provided through the Trust.
Trust leaders say the arrangement will also create opportunities for staff development, career progression and collaboration between schools.
Gargrave Church of England Primary School will retain its name and identity following the conversion and will continue to operate as a Church of England school within the local community.
The conversion was approved by both the Diocese of Leeds and the Department for Education and takes effect from 1st June 2026.
