Share Skipton is launching its first Repair Café next weekend.
The event invites locals to bring in broken items such as toasters, bikes, and chairs for free repairs by skilled volunteers.
The repair café aims to reduce waste and save money all whilst creating a community atmosphere.
It will be held on Saturday 28th June from 10am to 1pm at St Andrew’s Church.
Jill Coope, project coordinator, said:
“Our motto is simple: fix it, don’t bin it.
"With the rising cost of living and environmental concerns, we want to empower people to repair what they own.”
The event also includes a refill station from Miniml, offering eco-friendly household products.
Future Repair Café dates include July 26th, August 30th, and September 27th.
Volunteers are welcome to sign up via the Share Skipton website here.
The event is open to all and free to attend thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
