The next Ilkley Local History Hub is meeting on Saturday May 27 look around the central area of The Grove.
Organised by Ilkley Civic Society, attendees are invited to meet at Ilkley Manor House courtyard at 2.45pm for the introduction, with the walk starting at 3pm.
Leading the walk will be Alex Cockshott: “Leaving the Manor House, we shall walk up and look at the back of The Grove where the railway once ran and Ilkley’s first cinema stood. Then we shall cross The Grove to look at the former Ilkley Charity Hospital. We shall return to look at the shops in the centre of The Grove, some of which replaced the old Green Lane Cottage, as the road was developing into today's busy shopping street.” The walk will last between an hour and an hour and half.
