A referendum will be held on Thursday 5th May to decide whether Bradford Council should adopt the Neighbourhood Plan for Ilkley.
Residents will be asked to vote yes or no to the following question: “Do you want City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Ilkley to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
The Ilkley Neighbourhood Development Plan (INDP) will give local people more say on the future development of the area. The number of people entitled to vote in the Referendum is 12,209.
The Referendum will be conducted in accordance with procedures which are similar to those used at local government elections.

Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, 3rd Floor, City Hall, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1 1HY by 12 midnight on Thursday 14th April 2022. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, 3rd Floor, City Hall, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1 1HY by 5pm on Tuesday 19th April 2022.
Applications to vote by proxy at this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, 3rd Floor, City Hall, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1 1HY by 5pm on Tuesday 26th April 2022.
Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, 3rd Floor, City Hall, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1 1HY by 5pm on Thursday 5th May 2022.
