A local author will be signing copies of his exciting new children’s book at Keighley Market on Saturday 11th February.
Simon E Wilkinson will be at the market between 11am and 1pm to meet families and sign copies of "The Mammoth and the Moonstick".
The book, aimed at children aged 8 and above, follows the adventures of young time traveller Tom Lennox, who is based on Simon’s own grandson.
In a distant galaxy, a shivering planet is home to long extinct ice creatures. No one has ever been to this remote place – except Tom: who finds a woolly mammoth and her calf trapped by hungry wolves inside a dark mountain cave.
Simon said: “Keighley Market has been a vibrant focal point for retail in our town for more than 700 years. It is vital that we keep supporting all local businesses across Keighley and I feel privileged to have been invited to sign copies of my new book inside the market.
“I have been overwhelmed by all the positive comments received from children, parents and grandparents who have read my book; one describing it as a - thrilling, chilling fantasy adventure.
“The icy, snow-coated mountains are an enchanted place that children aged 8 and above will love to explore with Tom Lennox – perhaps the perfect place for bored youngsters to discover during their half-term school holiday!”
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: “We’re delighted to be able support this local author by inviting him to Keighley Market to sign copies of his new children’s book.”
