Airedale NHS Trust to get £1.6m for upgrade work

The Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is getting a share of £600m of government funding to refurbish hospitals, with 19 projects in the Trust being allocated cash.

A total of £1,678,000 will come to our local hospital trust, to spend on work including refurbishment of wards, new electrics and upgrading ventilation systems between now and March 2021.

It comes from a £1.5 billion pot of money for hospital infrastructure across England which was first announced by the Prime Minister in the summer.

Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore said: “I am delighted that Airedale NHS Foundation Trust will benefit from Government funding to carry out vital maintenance work over the coming months.

These crucial projects will deliver immediate benefits and provide NHS staff with the facilities they need to provide world-class care to patients, helping our NHS to build back better after the pandemic.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said: “Alongside delivering on our manifesto commitment to build 40 new hospitals and 20 major hospital upgrades across the country, this investment will help our NHS build back better.

These crucial maintenance projects will deliver immediate benefits and provide NHS staff with the facilities they need to provide world-class care to their patients this winter, helping ensure the NHS is always there for you when you need it.”
