Ilkley Round Table have confirmed their popular Santa Float will be bringing festive cheer this year but with a number of covid changes.
Between 6th and 13th December, Santa will visit Ilkley, Addingham and Ben Rhydding. He will be throwing sealed sweets to children from a socially distanced position, but helpers won’t be knocking on doors collecting donations physically. However, you can donate to local good causes online at https://buff.ly/3fNSN2M or via text by sending ILKLEYSANTA 5, ILKLEYSANTA 10 or ILKLEYSANTA 20 to 70085.
Organiser James Mann told Rombalds Radio: “Whilst this year will be slightly different to previous years we are again looking forward to escorting Santa to see the children (and slightly bigger children) of Ilkley and Addingham. We believe his presence this year is more important than ever as it certainly signals the start of Christmas to us.
“Whilst we are not able to knock on doors to encourage the children out to see Santa, we will still be taking donations virtually through text and online donations. Every penny raised by Ilkley and District Round Table is spent on worthy causes in the Ilkley and District area and we are forever grateful to the people of Ilkley for their support for all we do.”

Ilkley Terraces - Tuesday 8th December, 6PM
Ben Rhydding - Friday 11th December, 6PM
Dale View - Sunday 13th December, 4PM

Scalebor Square - Friday 18th December, 6pm
From Endor Crescent - Sunday 20th December, 4pm, route: Endor Cr, Holme Grove, Hill Cr, Sandholme Dr, Prospect Rd, St Michaels Way, Hasley Rd, St Philips, Fenton St, Lawn Ave, Grangefield Terrace.
