Sheep mascot features on new Skipton to Keighley buses

Buses used on the Dalesway route have had a makeover with the appearance of Dale the sheep, plus leather seats, wi-fi and USB chargers.

The Keighley Bus Company says it hopes the new features will improve the experience for customers, as they come 'flocking back' when the lockdown ends.

The relaunch sees newer double decker buses taking to the road, each one with free wi-fi, USB power points at every seat on leather seating.

The Dalesway buses also feature a new and colourful branded design featuring the service’s own cheeky character, Dale the sheep, who can be spotted by sharp-eyed younger travellers getting up to all kinds of mischief on the inside of every bus!

The Keighley Bus Company General Manager Alan Isherwood said: “Dalesway is one of our most popular services, and the extra space and comfort on these newer buses will be much appreciated by our customers.

“It’s an ideal time for us to bring in these bigger and better buses, as more people will be looking to get out and about when pandemic travel restrictions are eased. For now, our timetables will remain the same as we continue to focus on providing travel for key workers and others making essential journeys.

“The Dalesway service is very popular with NHS workers travelling to Airedale Hospital, and students at Craven College are now back on board with us as well. While our buses are bigger and better, our prices are staying the same – so no-one will end up being fleeced!”
