Virtual Firework Night show to air this Thursday

Rombalds Radio has teamed up with The Hive in Silsden and local firework company Optimum Fireworks to put a virtual firework show online this week.

One of the big local Firework Night displays each year takes place in the field behind The Hive community centre in Silsden, but the Covid-19 restrictions mean the 2020 display is not able to happen as usual.

Instead we will be showcasing The Hive as well as Optimum Fireworks, which is based in Silsden and Riddlesden, with a video premiering on social media and via our website on Thursday 5th November at 6pm.

Viewers will be able to find out about The Hive and how it has been operating during the last few months during the coronavirus restrictions as early years classes slowly returned. We will also talk to Phil and Rebecca Cooper from award-winning Optimum Fireworks to learn more about their company and how it's been impacted by the events of 2020.

We will also be revealing the winners of The Hive's Firework Art Competition which has been running through the half-term holidays.

The programme concludes with a fantastic 15-minute firework show from last year which you can watch from the comfort and safety of your own home.

Tune in to our Facebook page at 6pm on Thursday for the build up and to support these local organisations, and then watch the firework show from 6.15pm. The show will also be available to watch via this website.

Please note that all the footage that will be shown has been filmed pre-lockdown.

Please support The Hive with a donation if you can, and support local supplier Optimum Fireworks if you need a firework show for a wedding or event in 2021.
