Accessibility improved at Ben Rhydding church

A Bradford District Councillor has welcomed new automated doors at St John’s in Ben Rhydding.

Councillor Anne Hawkesworth was delighted to see investment coming to Ben Rhydding from Bradford Council’s Disability Grants. The new automated doors at St John’s Church will further increase accessibility to the hall, lounge and church with additional signage pointing to the accessible entrance.

A spokesperson for St John’s said: “The hall and lounge are widely used by a variety of groups ranging from singers and musicians to dancers, mahjong players to toddlers and by the local charity CTI2000 allotment project. The welcome cafe in the lounge is open on a Tuesday afternoon from 2-4.30 as a warm space with free refreshments, wifi and a warm welcome is extended to all.

“The lounge and hall are available for hire on a regular or one off basis and the bookings officer can be contacted at booking@benrhydding.org.uk
