Call for Ilkley half-marathon volunteers

With less than five weeks to go, organisers of the Ilkley Half-Marathon have put a call out for more volunteers to help them stage the event.

Ilkley and District Round Table will stage the fourth Ilkley Half on Sunday 16th July, a spokesperson said: “This year is shaping up to be another cracking event but it’s only possible to put on with a large team of volunteers. We are still short of the numbers we require especially to cover the Addingham - Beamsley area of the course.

"If you’re not running this year but would still like to be involved then please consider signing up as a volunteer.”

The event is entirely volunteer led and has been rated ‘outstanding’ and given 100% from UK Athletics in each year for safety and quality. The group also organises an event village with a broad range of food and drink vendors, children’s activities and entertainment. The 2023 event is expected to attract over 2,500 runners and 5,000 spectators.

Anyone who would like to sign up to be a volunteer or find out more is asked to visit ilkleyhalfmarathon.co.uk/volunteer/
