Police say a man has been charged following the discovery of a 'large-scale' cannabis farm this week at a unit on Engine Shed Lane in Skipton.
Officers were following up reports of a strange smell coming from the unit on Wednesday (18th October).
On gaining entry to the premises, they discovered hundreds of cannabis plants growing in three internal rooms, with a value likely to be into the hundreds of thousands of pounds.
North Yorkshire Police say the scale of the operation indicates that this is an organised crime.
One suspect was detained at the scene whilst attempting to escape through a fire door. He has now been charged and remanded into custody with one other man being arrested and released under investigation.
The cannabis farm has now been locked down.
The force says anyone with any information that could assist officers should call North Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting reference 12230198063.
