Craven Arts House to host first Makers Fair

Craven Arts is holding its first Makers Fair over the August Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate the final days of the Skipton Now Festival and the opening of the Craven Arts House Community Hall.

Talented makers are coming from a wide area to sell their work and include several Craven Arts members and local creatives.

From the textural ceramics with beautiful driftwood handles of Alison Young to the pixel based art of Jamie Wharton, the makers fair will be showcasing textiles, portraiture, graphic design, fine art, children’s book illustration, jewellery, silversmithing, fused glass, prints and paper engineering.

Open on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August from 11am until 4pm, Craven Arts House will also have artists studios open to the public, free taster Still Life drawing workshops and exhibitions of work by Artist Alfonsas Paulauskas,

The Yorkshire Mural created by Year Six pupils from Greatwood and Christ Church schools and Craven College students fabulous black and white photography project ‘Humans of Skipton'.

Craven Arts House now has a small shop and an honesty cafe located in the front of building and is open every week Wednesday to Saturday 11am - 4pm.
