Events planned in Ilkley to mark the coronation of King Charles III

Celebratory Coronation concert to be held at King’s Hall and Winter Garden

Ilkley Town Council invites residents to save the dates for two events it is organising to mark the coronation of King Charles III in May.

On Sunday May 7th, the Town Council is partnering with St Margaret’s Church to hold a Civic Service for the whole town to commemorate the coronation and celebrate the part that Ilkley’s community plays in national life. The service is open to all and will begin at 6.30 pm in the church. Details will follow and invitations will be sent to invited guests and community groups.

On Monday May 8th, the Town Council will be hosting a celebratory concert at Ilkley’s King’s Hall. High quality local artists including a brass band, a chamber choir and professional soloists, will perform solo items, coronation-themed music and crowd-pleasing tunes for all ages. The concert will take place from 6 pm in the King’s Hall, and tickets will be priced at £2.50 per person. Booking information will follow.

An Ilkley Town Council spokesperson said: “We hope these two events will be memorable and enjoyable for people of all ages wishing to commemorate and celebrate this national event. Please keep an eye out for information over the next few months.”
