First homes complete on former Mill site at Burley-in-Wharfedale

The first houses at a new homes development on the edge of Burley-in-Wharfedale’s transformational Greenholme Mills complex are now complete and ready to move into.

Known as Greenholme Mews, the development consists of 19, four-bedroom houses, that are being built by respected Leeds based house builder, Chartford Homes. The homes are being marketed by the new homes division of estate agent, Dacre, Son & Hartley and Chartford Homes’ on-site marketing suite and luxury show home are open Thursday to Monday, between 10.30am and 4.30pm.

Situated close to the River Wharfe, each home has its own paved driveway with an EV charging point and gardens to front and rear, as well as being finished to an exceptionally high standard throughout. In addition, there are bi-folding doors out to the gardens, white contemporary internal doors, and luxury Amtico flooring to the ground floor, along with underfloor heating, en-suite bathrooms and some of the bedrooms also have fitted wardrobes.

Greenholme Mills operated as a successful textile mill from 1790 until the 1960s, and its location next to the River Wharfe made it one of the largest water-powered mills in England when it was built. However, in recent decades it had fallen into a state of disrepair and its historic mill buildings are now also being transformed into apartments, as part of the site’s regeneration programme.

Paul Wilson, director at Dacre, Son & Hartley, said: “Greenholme Mews offers a collection of stylish, contemporary and extremely spacious homes that have been designed with modern living requirements in mind. This means vast light filled open plan living spaces and flexible rooms for living and entertaining, or working from home.

“Burley in Wharfedale is an extremely popular place to live, with good schools, a selection of pubs, shops and places to eat, as well a railway station connecting it to Ilkley, Leeds and Bradford.

“This part of the village is quickly becoming one of its most sought-after residential areas, with the added benefit of being close to the River Wharfe, which offers beautiful walks and stepping stones across to the countryside that surrounds Asquith and Denton, making Greenholme Mews the best development in Burley in Wharfedale for many years. As a result, several homes are already sold at Greenholme Mews, and the remaining properties are currently attracting plenty of interest from buyers.”

The homes all have high specification kitchens with quartz worktops and instant hot water taps, as well as integrated appliances including a double oven, microwave, warming drawer, under counter wine cooler, five ring hob, full height fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer.

In addition, the houses benefit from internal security systems with alarms and security lights, and fully comply with the latest guidance on energy efficiency, as well as being backed by a 10-year building guarantee.
