Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice threw open its doors and welcomed in the local community last Sunday for its much-loved summer garden party, raising over £13,000 for families needing palliative care and bereavement support.
Hundreds turned up to enjoy spending time in the hospice’s beautiful grounds in Oxenhope for an afternoon of fun and entertainment – all whilst raising vital funds.
The family-friendly event, sponsored by Day & Co Estate Agents, included a barbecue, stalls, a bouncy castle, face painting and entertainment from Haworth Brass Band, Voices of Yorkshire and The Jivers.
Hayley Ibbotson, Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, said: “It was wonderful to see the ground bustling with activity and visitors and we’d like to share a huge thank you with everyone who came to join us and supported us on the day!”
“The valuable funds raised are such a boost to the charity and will help us to be there when it matters for our patients and their loved ones.
“I'd like to share a special mention to those who helped to make the day such a success including our visitors, volunteers, advertisers and sponsors Day & Co Estate Agents. I hope you all had a great afternoon and look forward to seeing you again next year – put Sunday 14 July 2024 into your diaries now, where we will be celebrating 50 years of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice!”
Chris Day, Director of Day & Co. Estate Agents, said: “We are delighted to be headline sponsors of the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice Garden Party 2023, contributing to a fantastic cause and the amazing work everyone does at the hospice. Many of us have links to the hospice, and it’s our privilege to be able to give back to a fantastic local cause.”
All proceeds from the day will help Sue Ryder continue to provide expert and compassionate palliative care to people living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families.
