Ilkley Beef and Beer dinner raises over £58k for Manorlands

An 18th annual black-tie dinner supported by local companies and held at the Craiglands in Ilkley has raised over £58,000 for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

The "Beef & Beer Dinner" is organised each year by The Manorlands Challenge Committee and has raised now more than £1.6 million over the years.

The event, sponsored by Dovecote Park and Timothy Taylor’s Brewery, saw 24 local companies join together this year, including new guests King Cole, Bulloughs Cleaning Services, Crag & Co Accountants, and Clarion Solicitors.

Timothy Taylor’s set up a pop-up bar which provided free pints of their award-winning beer throughout the night, followed by a speech by guest speaker and former England cricketer, Dr Jane Powell.

Tim Dewey, Chief Executive of Timothy Taylor’s, said: “We are proud to once again donate our award-winning beers for the annual Beef & Beer Dinner to raise much needed funds for the fantastic work of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.”

A loin of premium beef provided by Dovecote Park took centre stage at the dinner table and the night finished with a live auction. Prizes included a Timothy Taylor’s brewery tour, exclusive use of the award-winning Nadarra Spa at The Coniston Hotel, and a corporate hospitality package to see Man City v Crystal Place at the Etihad Stadium.

Senior Hospice Fundraiser Harriet Bevan said: “We are so fortunate to be able to work with Timothy Taylor’s and Dovecote Park on this absolutely fantastic event, their support is invaluable and greatly appreciated by everyone here.

“The funds we have managed to raise will make a huge difference to the lives of the patients and families we are able to support when it matters most. In addition, we would also like to thank the members of the challenge committee who play a crucial role in helping to organise both the Beef & Beer and Coniston Challenge Day events which this year have raised a combined total of £113,000 to support the work of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.”
