Local Co-op shoppers help provide £8,500 donation to Airedale Hospital charity

Staff from the Cross Hills branch of the Co-op with Laura Hepworth, Community Fundraiser for Airedale Charity.

Airedale Hospital and Community Charity has received a total of £8,681 through the Co-op's Community Fund in the past year thanks to local shoppers.

Co-op stores in Silsden, Steeton, Cross Hills, and Gargrave - as well as a Co-op Funeralcare in Skipton - selected the hospital's official charity to benefit from the Co-op Community Fund.

The fund supports projects across the UK through the purchase of their Co-op branded products. The charity will use the funds raised through these purchases to provide wellbeing spaces, equipment, and any other items that will help improve the health and wellbeing of the patients and staff at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

Jodie Hearnshaw, Charity Manager, said: “We’ve been incredibly proud to work with the Co-op this year. Being a part of the Co-op Community Fund has given us the opportunity to connect with our community in so many ways, especially through their everyday shopping.

“I want to thank every Co-op member who chose us as their charity – we raised an amazing amount through this fund, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you so much for all of your support, and thank you to the Co-op stores that have continuously supported us and helped us raise such an incredible amount for our cause.”
