Man dies after Skipton town centre assault

Police say a man who was the victim of a serious assault on Skipton High Street at the weekend has died.

41 year old Peter Walker was attacked at the Black Horse pub late on Saturday night and received serious injuries.

Officers now say Mr Walker died in hospital on Tuesday (25th October).

In a statement North Yorkshire Police said: “It’s asked that the family are left to grieve in peace at this extremely difficult time.”

As we previously reported, three men were arrested on suspicion of assault and subsequently released on bail. They are two Skipton men, aged 33 and 36, and a 38 year old man from Bingley.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and has not yet come forward is asked to get in touch with police. Dial 101, press 2 and ask to speak to the Major Investigation Team.
