Police appeal over Cowling garage burglary

North Yorkshire Police are investigating after four bikes were stolen from a garage in Cowling over the weekend.

Officers say a widow was smashed to gain access to the garage on Woodland Street overnight on Saturday night into Sunday morning.

CCTV enquiries have shown masked suspects committing the burglary at 00.50am on Sunday 21st January.

They left the scene via fields which lead onto Fold Lane in the village.

The suspects discarded two lower value mountain bikes in a field and have then ridden off on a stolen electric bike and stolen motor cross bike down Fold Lane. The two mountain bikes have been recovered by the owner.

The two stolen bikes which are outstanding are:
     - A Santa Cruise Bullet electric bike in matt Bronze. This has full suspension and yellow writing on the black tyres which says "MAXXIS".
     - A ‘21-plate’, Beta RR200 Enduro motor cross bike (2022 model). The bike is quite a distinctive bike as it is red with specks of black on it. On the two front forks of the suspension there are two stickers which have green writing on with the words "SET" on them.

Anyone with any Information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on ‘101’ and quote incident number 1240012293.
