Rotary young photographer competition

The Rotary Club of Ilkley Wharfedale has launched its young photographer competition and the theme this year is The Beauty of Architecture.

Open to all 5 to 17 year-olds who live in the Ilkley area, the competition is split into 3 age categories, 5-10, 11-13 and 14-17. First prize in each age group is £30, plus a masterclass photography lesson and entry into the Yorkshire/Regional Competition. There is a second prize of £20 and third of £10 in each category.

A Rotary spokesperson said: “We’re looking for young people with an interest in photography. Could you take a photograph that makes an arresting image? This is your chance to show your talent and perhaps win a prize and go further into regional and national level competitions.”

Every qualifying entrant will receive a certificate of participation, judging will take place in December and a presentation ceremony will take place in Ilkley Council Chambers in January 2023.

Further information and an entry form is available from the Rotary website at: https://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/homepage.php?ClubID=1826

The closing date for applications is midnight on December 16th 2022, full competition rules are available on the above website. The Ilkley area is Addingham to Burley-in-Wharfedale.
