The production team putting on the Calendar Girls musical in Skipton later this year are running a photography competition for local images to be featured in the show.

Skipton Musical Theatre Company is staging the Gary Barlow-penned musical in October, which tells the story of the original Calendar Girls from Cracoe & Rylstone WI.

The production will be staged at Skipton Town Hall from 25th to 28th October.

Director Jay Cundell Walker says: "We are currently looking for images of our beautiful dales - photos or short videos of Yorkshire to form the start of our production.

"The show opens with the character of John (based on the real John Baker) singing about how wonderful Yorkshire is. We thought it would be great to use the favourite views of local people.

"We'll also select one winning photo which will become our 'backcloth' and the winner will get two free tickets to see the show."

If you would like to submit a photo or short video panorama then email it to jcundellwalker@gmail.com by 1st September 2023.
