Two members of The Skipton Choir have written and composed a song about peace and hope which will be performed for the first time at the choir's December concert.
Called "Shine Out", it has been written by chairman Carol Squire with music by musical director David Weale.
Carol says: “The song is very much about peace and hope at Christmas. Given everything that is happening around the world at the moment, we felt this would offer the audience a more thoughtful element to the programme.”
The concert takes place at Christ Church in Skipton on 2nd December at 7.30pm and is being held in aid of Skipton Step into Action.
It will also feature a mixture of musical mashups, upbeat swing and iconic pop classics.
David Weale added: “There should be something for everyone – lots of well-known tracks as well as a couple of more considered pieces, including the first public airing of Shine Out. The second half will give everyone a chance to join in and sing along to a selection of Christmas favourites and evergreens.”
