Village phone box used as a book and DVD exchange

Funded by the Keighley Town Council’s Ward Improvement fund, residents in Laycock can now use a phone box installed to serve as a location for a village book and DVD exchange.

Posting on its Facebook page, Keighley Town Council thanked Norman Ellis, who got the phone box fit for purpose by installing some shelving units and plaques, which look fantastic, and also extended its thanks to Jim Walker from Laycock Village Hall who has worked closely with Cllr. Kirby on the project.

Councillor Kirby said: ‘I am delighted to see a wonderful idea come into fruition. The book exchange seems to be running smoothly and serving it’s purpose - we hope the local residents enjoy!’
