Airedale Hospital and Community Charity are set to host their second continuous CPR-a-thon even in Skipton on Saturday 27 September to raise funds for the Emergency Department Appeal.
The first event saw team members from Airedale NHS Foundation Trust’s Emergency Department and The Yorkshire Ambulance Service come together to teach over 700 people from the local community CPR whilst raising a fantastic £2195 for the appeal.
Nicola Denbow, Matron of Airedale General Hospital’s Emergency Department said:
“After the success of the first event we saw a real opportunity and need to actively go out to our communities to teach CPR.
“It’s a skill that many won’t realise they need until the time comes.
"I would personally encourage anyone to come along on the day to try their hand at learning CPR from our team of professionals whilst raising funds for a great cause.”
From 8am-8pm, at Morrison's there will be resuscitation dolls to practise CPR and a defibrillator for anyone who would like information on how to use one.
Your Skipton Radio will be there on the day too to support the event.
Carla Weatherall, Charity Fundraiser said:
“We’re very excited to bring this event back to Skipton and help even more people from our community learn the life-saving skill of CPR.
“You can be sponsored to take part as a team or individually, but our goal is to have at least one person performing CPR at any point of this event.”
