A free event focusing on dementia will be held at Skipton Town Hall on Thursday 25th September from 1pm to 3pm.
The Dementia Discussion is being organised by Dementia Forward and Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.
It is open to anyone in the Craven area who would like to learn more about dementia, discover local support services, or speak with a support advisor in a safe and supportive setting.
Speakers include Fiona Andrews, Community Education Coordinator at Dementia Forward, and Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Kamath, who will share information and insights on the condition.
A marketplace of local services will also be available, offering details about the support they provide.
The event is open to anyone, including people living with dementia, carers, health and social care professionals, or those simply wishing to increase their understanding.
In addition to the discussion, Dementia Forward is running two fundraising events in Skipton this September, a Golf Day at Skipton Golf Club on Thursday 4 September and the Skipton Three Peaks Walk on Saturday 21 September.
Further details about these events can be found at www.dementiaforward.org.uk.
For dementia support across North Yorkshire, Dementia Forward can be contacted on 03300 578592.
