Pet owners and local residents are being warned that a firework show will take place on Skipton High Street this Sunday teatime.
The choreographed firework show by local company Optimum Fireworks will take place at 5pm when the town's Christmas lights are turned on following a day of festive entertainment in the town centre.
The display promises to be spectacular, with Optimum recently crowned Champion of Champions at the British Musical Firework Championships.
The day begins at 11am with the Great Skipton Santa Fun Run, followed by a full afternoon of music and dancing on the Your Skipton stage outside the Town Hall.
Britain’s Got Talent finalist Stacey Leadbeatter will be the headline performer, while former England footballer Jean Elliot will have the honour of switching on the Christmas lights.
Event organisers are advising anyone sensitive to loud noise, as well as those planning to bring pets or other furry companions, to avoid the top end of High Street at 5pm due to the sound levels associated with the fireworks.
