Local artist to host exhibition and Q&A

Brian's exhibition at the Craven Arts House

Local landscape artist, Brian Burton will hold the Q&A at the Craven Arts House this Friday to go along with his October exhibition.

Brian's exhibition 'Flow Like Water' showcases a new collection of paintings that explore the power, beauty, and fluidity of water in all its forms.

Inspired by the tranquillity and movement of local rivers, lakes, and watercourses, Burton’s latest works are a captivating mix of texture, colour, and form.

The collection reflects months of contemplation and observation, as well as Burton’s signature style that blends meticulous attention to detail with vibrant, flowing expressions of nature’s elements. Burton, a seasoned artist with an impressive career spanning decades, trained at some of the UK’s finest art institutions, including Loughborough College of Art, Manchester Polytechnic, and U.M.I.S.T.

Brian Burton has had a long and distinguished career as both an artist and a designer. With over 25 years of experience in the Yorkshire textile industry and formal training from leading UK art institutions.

He began his professional journey as a lecturer in drawing, design, and textiles before moving on to design for the Yorkshire textile industry for over 25 years.

All the while, he maintained a thriving painting practice, exhibiting and selling his work throughout the UK, Europe, and North America.

His pieces are held in both private and corporate collections worldwide.

Craven Arts is hosting a Meet-the-artist event with local landscape artist Brian Burton, on Friday 25th October, 5-7pm.

Brian will talk about his evolving career and how his work has grown to encompass more experimental representations of landscapes, particularly his fascination with water.
