Local care group's Christmas appeal to return

Spellman Care are excited to announce that its annual Christmas Appeal will be returning for the fourth consecutive year.

Spellman Care is a family-run group of residential and nursing homes which has been operating the local area for over 30 years

The local group of care homes have collected for local charities in the run up to Christmas since 2021, with an appeal for Homeless Not Helpless, The Salvation Army, and this year, the Airedale Hospital & Community Charity.

The appeal will see donation points at each of the four Spellman Care homes until the 9th of December, with residents and staff members set to hand deliver the presents to Airedale Hospital on the 10th.

A spokesperson for Spellman Care said,

“The Annual Christmas Appeal has become a tradition across the group. It’s incredibly important to us that we give back to our local community, especially given that one of our core values is ‘Kindness’.”

Anyone from the local community can donate to the appeal at the four Spellman Care Homes; Craven Nursing Home in Skipton, Ghyll Royd Care Home in Guiseley, Springbank Care Home in Silsden and Steeton Court Nursing Home in Steeton.

The group asks that any visitors simply ring the doorbell on arrival.

The criteria for donations are as follows:

· Gifts should be new and in original packaging

· Gifts should not be unduly large or heavy

· A maximum gift value of £15 is recommended

· Gifts can be for Children or Adults

· Gifts should not cause any offense, so sadly no toy guns or religious items

· Due to allergies, we cannot gift chocolates or selection boxes

· Please can gifts be donated unwrapped so Airedale Hospital’s helpers can check them
