Skipton and Ripon MP, Sir Julian Smith is encouraging permanent residents of park home sites to apply for a dedicated Warm Home Discount scheme operated by Charis.
Payments of £150 are available to eligible park home residents who do not have a direct relationship with an electricity supplier and instead pay the site owners for their electricity.
You may qualify for the Park Homes Warm Home Discount if you (or a household member) receive one of the following:
- Pension Credit
- Income-related Employment & Support Allowance
- Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income Support
- Universal Credit showing an earned income between £0 and £1,665 a month
- Child Tax Credit by virtue of an award based on an annual income not exceeding £19,978
- Working Tax Credit by virtue of an award based on an annual income not exceeding £19,978
- Housing Benefit (or Housing element if receiving Universal Credit) or the total gross annual household income across everyone living in your household is below £19,978 (before tax and deductions)
The Park Homes Warm Home Discount scheme is a multi-supplier initiative which E.ON Next, Utilita, OVO and Rebel Energy are funding this year. The scheme is Ofgem-approved and regulated.
Residents can apply through an online form and those who need help with making an application can ask for the help of a friend or relative, or contact the Charis customer support team via their helpline at 01733 797543 (Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00).
Commenting, Julian said,
“Across our area, people who live in park homes and static caravans may be eligible to access payments of £150 to help with energy costs.
This support could be a crucial lifeline for many, so I would encourage everyone who believes they may be eligible to apply as soon as possible.”
Funding is limited so the scheme operates on a first come, first served basis until all monies are allocated.
Payments are made directly into successful applicants’ bank accounts before the end of March 2025.
Further details for the Charis Park Home Warm Home Discount scheme are available here and residents can apply at www.lightningreach.org/charis.
