A new craft café is set to open in Skipton.
Craft Social will welcome its first visitors on Saturday 28th March, with an official opening planned for Wednesday 1st April on Newmarket Street in Skipton. The café has been created by Ilkley-based founders Sophie and Becky, who previously ran Craft Social as a mobile workshop business delivering creative events across Yorkshire. Following its first year, they decided to establish a permanent venue in Skipton. The space has been designed as a screen-free environment, encouraging visitors to take part in creative activities such as painting, beading and spray art. The café will offer a mix of walk-in sessions, bookable experiences, and workshops, alongside craft kits that can be taken home. Workshops will be available at various price points, and the venue will also be open for private hire. In addition, the café plans to collaborate with local artists, providing opportunities to showcase work and host events. Food and drink will also be available, with an emphasis on sourcing from local suppliers where possible. Speaking about the launch, the founders said: “After seeing the response to our workshops, opening a permanent space felt like the natural next step. "We wanted to create a welcoming environment where people can take time out, be creative and enjoy making something.” A preview event will take place on 28th March between 1pm and 4 pm, where visitors can view the refurbished space, take part in activities and meet the team.
