Coniston Bridge on the A65 is awaiting repairs which are currently on hold with a contractor yet to be appointed.
In August, North Yorkshire County Council said it hoped to start work on the grade two listed bridge in October - but has yet to give a date.
The 260 year old 'pinch-point' bridge has been repeatedly damaged over recent years.
The council's Mid-Craven member, Councillor Simon Myers, told Gargrave Parish Council that the authority was struggling to secure a contractor to carry out the work without a lengthy full closure of the road.
