A family-run bakery in Skipton has been crowned the best in North Yorkshire for the second year running.
Phillipe's Bakery on Sackville Street has successfully defended its title after once again being named Best Bakery in North Yorkshire at the English Business Awards Yorkshire Finals. The business will now go on to represent the county at the national finals later this year. The bakery won the title last year at the English Business Awards. The award recognises outstanding independent businesses across the region, with winners selected through a combination of customer nominations, public votes and mystery shopper visits. Phillipe's Bakery has been a fixture in Skipton since 1977 and has built a loyal following for its freshly baked bread, pies, sandwiches, cakes and pastries. The bakery, originally established by Philip and Yvonne, is now run by their son Wayne, who is head baker, alongside his wife Laura. Retaining the title marks another major achievement for the long-established business and highlights the continued success of independent retailers in Skipton. The bakery will now compete against other regional winners from across England in the English Business Awards national finals later this year.
