Skipton BID to work alongside MP to back VAT's The Problem campaign

Skipton BID have shared they are working alongside Skipton MP, Julian Smith to back the VAT's The Problem campaign.

The recent campaign started by Tom Kerridge, chef and publican, is looking to cut the hospitality VAT rate from 20% to 10%.

A petition has been set up to bring to the government.

Julian Smith raised questions around VAT in hospitality in Parliament.

The BID shared they would support local businesses and back the VAT campaign.

They said:

"We will continue to work alongside Julian Smith MP to lobby the Government and ensure our local businesses receive the correct support.

"We are also supporting the VATs The Problem campaign, which is calling for the Government to reduce hospitality VAT from 20% to 10% to support local businesses, jobs, and communities."

Skipton BID have created downloadable merchandise for the campaign for businesses to promote at their venues.
