Drake And Macefield have won Best Prepared Meat (hot) in Yorkshire's biggest food awards.
The butchers located in Skipton, Settle and Crosshills have bagged first prize at the annual Taste Awards.
On Thursday evening (7th November), the guys from Drake And Macefield received their award at The Pavilions in Harrogate for their prize winning, smoked back bacon.
The team accepted their award with Yorkshire Shepherdess, Amanda Owen.
A spokesperson from the judging panel said:
"Drake & Macefield’s entry was a serious standout for the judges who loved its perfectly controlled level of smoke.
The team celebrated their win by giving customers 20% off their bacon until Saturday afternoon.
Describing the meat, the judges said:
“Moist, unctuous and well balanced, the fat is juicy and full of flavour with the perfect level of salt.
"We love its rich sweetness and know that breakfast would be memorable with this on our plates!”
Deliciously Yorkshire celebrates an array of Yorkshire produced food and drink.
Its annual 'Taste Awards' proved popular with local businesses and were sponsored this year by grocers, Booths.
