Skipton Choral Society will host its Winter Concert on Saturday 6 December at Christ Church Skipton, starting at 4pm.
The programme features two well-known choral works, Dvořák’s Mass in D and Parry’s Hear My Words, Ye People. Written in 1887, Dvořák’s Mass in D is recognised for its warmth and lyrical quality, while Parry’s work combines grand choral passages with moments of quiet reflection.
The performance will feature soloists Anna Williams (soprano), Adam Piplica (countertenor), Robin Lowery-Morton (tenor) and Richard Cressall (bass), accompanied by a wind quintet. The concert will be conducted by Musical Director Robert Webb, who said:
“We’re really looking forward to sharing these wonderful works with our audience,
“Both pieces are full of heart and humanity, and they sound particularly beautiful in the space of Christ Church.”
Skipton Choral Society has been part of the town’s musical life for many years and its seasonal concerts are popular with local audiences.
Tickets are priced at £15, with free entry for under-18s, and are available from TicketSource at ticketsource.co.uk/skiptonchoral or by emailing tickets@skiptonchoralsociety.com.
