The Christmas Elf Appeal is returning for it's fifth year to support struggling families in the Craven area.
The Christmas Elf Appeal is a scheme run by Skipton Step In To Action to help provide gifts for children in Skipton and Craven whose families are struggling to afford Christmas this year.
Families can request a gift to the value of £20-£25 for any child between the ages of 0 and 17, living in Skipton or the surrounding villages.
The gifts are then collected, wrapped, and delivered in time for Christmas.
The team at Skipton Step In To Action are asking for forms to be submitted by Friday 29th November at 6:00pm.
A spokesperson from Skipton Step In To Action said:
"If donating secondhand, please make sure they are in pristine condition – the rule we normally apply is whether or not it’s something you’d be happy for your own child to open on Christmas Day"
Step In To Action is a volunteer program that aims to help build the community in Skipton and South Craven with their events and projects.
How to get involved:
- Choose an item or items from the list on the gifts page
- Tick it off
- Write your name and email address or phone number so they can contact you if there are any problems
- Buy the gift from wherever you would like
- Drop it off in Skipton at Walker Foster Solicitors (3 High Street) or NFU Mutual (at the Auction Mart) or at Skipton Properties on a weekday, by Friday 6th December at the latest.
- Drop off your gift/gifts unwrapped, in a carrier bag marked with the ID number of the child you are buying for
- Our volunteers will wrap and deliver the gifts in time for Christmas, hopefully with some added extras to make Christmas really special.
Children from the following areas are eligible to receive a gift:
Skipton, Bradley, Cononley, Farnhill, Carleton, Cowling, Crosshills, Glusburn, Draughton, Embsay, Gargrave, Sutton and Thornton in Craven.
