Emergency services stage major training exercise near Skipton

Blue lights and sirens heard as police, fire and ambulance crews joined forces for a major training exercise near Skipton earlier this week.

The pre-planned multi-agency exercise took place on Tuesday (30th June) at the Land Rover Experience site near Broughton.

The scenario simulated a mass casualty road traffic collision, with volunteers acting as casualties to create a realistic environment for emergency responders.

The exercise saw all three services work together using the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP), which are designed to improve communication, coordination and decision-making during major incidents.

The training is intended to help emergency services respond more effectively to serious incidents and ensure crews can work together quickly and efficiently in real-life emergencies.

Emergency services have thanked the volunteers who took part, saying their involvement helped make the exercise as realistic as possible.

North Yorkshire Police reported the event on their Facebook page on Wednesday 1st July.
