The second Skipton Colour Run has been hailed a huge success after raising an impressive £6,500 to support students at The Skipton Academy.
The colourful community event, held on Saturday, brought together hundreds of runners, families and volunteers for a day packed with fun, music and plenty of paint.
All money raised will go directly towards enriching the experience of students at The Skipton Academy.
Following the event, organisers thanked everyone who helped make the day such a success.
A spokesperson said:
"Wow! What an amazing day we had on Saturday at the second Skipton Colour Run. It was absolutely fantastic to see so many smiles.
We are delighted to announce that the event raised £6,500. All funds raised will go directly to enriching the experience of the students at The Skipton Academy."
Organisers paid tribute to everyone who took part in the run, cheered participants on and volunteered throughout the day, including staff, parents, local community members and current, former and future students.
Special thanks were also given to warm-up volunteers Jane from Craven Leisure and Ellis and Sam from PureGym, who got each wave ready before joining in the fun by spraying runners with water pistols on the slip and slide.
The academy also thanked Alex Cann from Your Skipton breakfast for helping keep the event running smoothly, and support also came from Andrew at Manorlands and Skipton Road Garage in Barnoldswick, who loaned equipment and obstacles, while food vendors including Treats by Steph, Paddy's Pizzas, Yorkshire Dales Ice Creams, JJR Catering and Freshly Made Donuts kept participants and spectators well fed.
Organisers also thanked Malcolm Stoney Photography for documenting the event, Skipton Town Council for its community grant, Tesco and Morrisons for donating drinks and hosting promotion and T-shirt collection points, and the event's sponsors whose support helped make the Colour Run possible.
The academy said the success of this year's event would not have been possible without the generosity and enthusiasm of the local community.
