Skipton ranked high for happiness and life satisfaction with wellbeing stats as follows:
- Average life satisfaction score: 8.2 / 10
- Access to green space within walking distance: 92% of residents
- Crime rate: around 35% lower than the national average
According to the site, Skipton has a strong community identity, low levels of noise and congestion with the immediate access to the countryside contributing to the levels of happiness.
North Yorkshire also saw Harrogate named number 5 in the list, known for its strong local pride and low crime rate.
