The new Skipton Community Sports Hub has held an event to celebrate its official opening.
Over 100 guests attended the event on 13th June including sponsors, beneficiaries, Skipton Juniors Football Club and Skipton Cricket Club.
The hub is a project by Skipton Juniors FC and Skipton Cricket Club and opened its doors at Sandylands on 1st September last year after many years of fundraising and planning.
The 3,500 sq ft building has already supported the sporting activities of around 600 children and young people from the local area; and hosted a variety of events such as birthday parties, sports festivals, dementia groups and more.
Under 15 cricketer, Millie Thompson-Barker and Under 9 footballer Oliver Schofield cut the ribbon at the grand opening with live music, speeches, a buffet.
The Skipton Community Sports Hub has thanked its charity trustees:
"Thanks to their passion, dedication, and countless volunteer hours, we now have a fantastic new cricket and football facility for the whole community to enjoy.
"This is more than a Hub – it’s a space for connection, teamwork, and future champions.
"Thank you, trustees, for making it happen!"
