As part of its Summer Breeze Festival, Craven Arts will be hosting a unique and inspiring event aimed at raising funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research: The Bareathon Life Drawing Marathon.
Scheduled for Saturday 20th July from 10am to 4pm, this is the second year of holding this marathon instigated by the life model John Tunney.
The class is untutored and artists of any skill level can drop in and spend as much time drawing as liked. This is a friendly event where artists can meet and share the experience.
A spokesperson told Your Skipton Radio:
"This 6-hour artistic endeavour, part of the Craven Arts Summer Breeze Festival, will bring together artists of all skill levels in a creative effort to support a cause that touches many lives.
"The day-long session is open to anyone over the age of 16, all you need to bring is a drawing pad and pencil. Easels, tables and boards are provided.
"Participants will have the opportunity to draw from the live model in a range of poses, and throughout the day different models will attend including Sue Vickerman, who will be with us for a couple of hours around midday.
"The Life Drawing Marathon offers a meaningful way for artists to contribute their talents to the fight against cancer. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Yorkshire Cancer Research."
Participants will be asked to donate on a “Pay as you think” basis with all proceeds from the event will be donated to Yorkshire Cancer Research.
