Members of Skipton Youth Council have banded together to pick up litter in their local area.
98 youngsters took part in their 'Keep Skipton Tidy' scheme and spent 2 hours picking up litter around Aireville Park, amounting to three bags of rubbish.
To prevent any more harm to the environment, the team sorted and disposed of the waste.
Their aim is to encourage other young people to be more involved with keeping the streets tidy.
98 young people got involved and Brooklands School was inspired by this project and has integrated litter picking into their school curriculum.
Skipton Youth Council is described as a "diverse and determined group of 11-18 year olds striving for positive change in Skipton and the surrounding area."
A spokesperson for the group said:
"We're proud to be Litter Heroes and help Keep Skipton Tidy!"
At the end of the competition, 48 bags of rubbish were filled and to celebrate, the Youth Council awarded £300 to Skipton Girls High School.
The money was provided by Skipton Town Council.
